Update - Wednesday, March 18th, 8:30 AM
What a week we have had… with this worldwide health crisis, it seems our nation has been shut down. Most every public gathering has been canceled and has had to reformat in light of the current circumstances. Thankfully, our North Highland Leadership Team has been meeting regularly and prayerfully to strategize on ways to keep our ministry strong through this time of crisis.
Today, Psalm 103 has been reverberating in my mind in regard to this NHC Family… “Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction.”
As you may already know, we are going to comply with our President’s recommendations, which are 3-fold:
Social Distancing – no handshakes, hugs, etc
No Gatherings above 10 people
People who are ill need to self-quarantine
However, we believe that during this time, North Highland will not only survive – we will thrive! In order to thrive, we encourage you to stay in touch through social media, stay connected to your families, and, most of all, stay connected to the Lord.
That being said, we at North Highland want to stay in touch with you online as much as possible. You are important to us, and we need each other during this unprecedented time. North Highland will continue to have church online on Sundays during our normal worship experience times – 8:30, 10:00, and 11:30 AM. Join us on Facebook Live, YouTube and through our website.
Our Wednesday experiences have also moved to online as well, including Highland Kids, Realife and Wednesday Bible study. Over the next few weeks, there will be no worship experiences, activities, Bible studies, or connect groups meeting on campus.
We still want to ignite your Passion to Give! Unfortunately, we can’t pass the bucket in person, but we still want you to have the same Passion to Give, to keep God’s House strong and Kingdom Builders missionaries on the field. Now is a great time to either:
Set up your tithe and Kingdom Builders offerings on our website, or
Set up online giving through your bank
You can even take advantage of our recurring and automatic features. This gives peace of mind, knowing that your tithe always gets to the storehouse!
For more information on this, we will be posting instructional videos soon to explain each of these processes.
If you would still like to drop off your tithe and Kingdom Builders offerings, you can do so by stopping by our office Monday – Thursday from 9am-5pm. We will have limited office staff during this time to answer phones, take prayer requests, and answer any questions you may have.
North Highland, let’s all do our part during this crisis. Let’s be examples, be wise, be hopeful, be faithful, be generous, and, most of all, be prayerful for our world, church family, missionaries, and especially our health care workers, law enforcement and military.
I encourage you to continue to be Passionate for God, for people, to serve and to give. Don’t forget to BE THE CHURCH and stay connected!
God love you, and God bless you.
Update - Monday, March 16th, 9:30 PM
Hello, North Highland Church! This is Pastor Brad checking in. I wanted to take some time to thank you for tuning in to our online service this past Sunday. 326 households viewed the service, and with your shares, we reached over 2,000 total views.
Now, we know these are unprecedented times. Government and medical officials are making announcements with recommendations changing day-by-day.
However, we want to assure you that during this time, North Highland Church is creating solutions to increase your Passion for God, for people, to serve, and to give.
They can cancel public gatherings, but I’ve got great news– you cannot cancel the Church! The Church of Jesus Christ will not fail, because Jesus said, “I will build My church and the gates of hell will not prevail!”
During this time of social distancing, we encourage you to be the Church of Jesus Christ!
Here are some practical things you can do:
1.Pray for our nation, government officials, and for the containment of COVID-19.
2.Check on your people! Call your friends, your neighbors, and your family. Now is the time to encourage each other.
3.Follow us on social media and check our website to stay up to date on the latest from Pastor and our team!
While we may not be able to gather AT the church, I’m encouraging you to BE the church.
We love you and God bless.
Update - Friday, March 13th, 6:45 PM
The whole world is a bit unnerved by the rapid development of the Coronavirus. It is certainly making an impact on our lives. As I recently preached, we can have courage in the midst of a crisis! Psalm 46:1 says, “God is our refuge, strength, and our very present help in time of trouble. Therefore, we will not fear.”
We are going to walk in faith, not fear. We will not panic, but we will prepare.
Out of an abundance of wisdom and care for our North Highland Church family, our Pastoral Staff and Board of Directors have been meeting to assess the necessary steps to ensure that we minimize any risk of infection on our campus. Therefore, we are complying with the recommendations of the medical and government officials that there should be no large gatherings at this time.
Therefore, this Sunday, we are having church online instead of gathering together. I encourage everyone to gather with their families at home and live stream service at 10:00 AM.
Don’t let the enemy weaken your worship experience! Worship with us online, give online, engage in God’s Word online, and submit your prayer requests online.
We will make it through this crisis together. Through this time, we will be posting updates on social media and here on our website.
Keep igniting your Passion for God, for People, to Serve, and to Give!
